ACADEMICS

We offer an opportunity for every student to have a private school education at a public school cost. Our advanced academics are tailored to work with both traditional and gifted students.

We focus on a rigorous college prep curriculum for our 9-12 grade students. Pre-AP courses, AP courses, and dual enrollment is available and strongly encouraged for each student. Our AP courses are structured to bring out each student’s full potential. They require a commitment of study, effort, and participation, higher than the standard level of high school courses.

Our middle school has a rigorous curriculum that prepares students for our high achievement Upper School, and beyond. Fostering a passion for lifelong learning, a respect for traditional values, and an appreciation for the arts and cultural diversity, The Midland Academy combines academics with extracurricular activities, in order to produce well-rounded, and leadership-oriented individuals.

Preparing students to be successful begins immediately. As early as Kindergarten, students learn the importance of maturity, well-mannered behavior, and proper etiquette in the classroom and professional settings. Midland Academy students display their ability to meet challenges, and our Lower School curriculum is geared toward producing well-rounded students, who are ready to embrace college preparation, and activities of civic engagement.

HOW ARE WE DIFFERENT?

Advanced Placement
We have many AP classes across the spectrum of subjects. Our students consistently score in the top 10% nationally.

College Credit
The average Midland Academy senior earns 12 college credits before graduation. We partner with Delta College to offer these credits with no cost to families.

College Mentoring
Midland Academy students are encouraged to rigorously prepare for college. We have an on-site college mentor to help with planning, enrollment & scholarships.

Senior Thesis
Our seniors have the opportunity to earn an advanced diploma by completing a senior thesis project. If completed successfully, thesis grads receive a Diploma of Higher Distinction.
